NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN
FOR MCFCCA’S “2009”
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
PRESIDENT—
Presides over all meetings and generally
supervises and controls the association. All persons nominated should have
been on the Board prior to being nominated for President.
VICE PRESIDENT
— Fills in for the president when
necessary.
SECRETARY —
Takes the minutes at the General
Meetings and
Board Meetings. She also sends out cards of Thanks, Congratulation
letters, etc. when requested.
TREASURER —
Receives all money and makes payments for
all approved expenses. She keeps records of all transactions through out
the year. She should have a working knowledge of accounting bookkeeping and
must be able to balance a bank statement.
REGIONAL DIRECTOR —
(Monterey), (South County), (Hispanic
in Salinas), is in charge of any and all activities in their region:
planning the monthly meetings and any other activity that the members want
to do such as fundraisers, Week of the Young Child, etc.
REGIONAL SECRETARY —
(Monterey), (South County), (Hispanic
in Salinas), acts as secretary and takes minutes at the monthly workshops in
their region.
What’s involved with
being on the Board?
We have 10
Board meetings and 10 workshops for each
region each
year. Each meeting and workshop lasts 2 hours.
This means that
you would be committing to 2 hours an evening, twice a month. The other
time commitment you have depends on which position you have; some take very
little time and others take a bit more. An example: The Secretary needs to
be at the Board meetings to take notes — the extra time involved includes
the time it takes to type up the minutes and get them to the Board members.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call Sandy Hall, 422-1452.
Nominations
will also be taken from the floor at the election luncheon in November.
